Notice of Prehearing Conference (April 3, 2009)
Considerable time has passed since it was learned that the developer had appealed Council’s decision regarding the proposed development at 495 – 513 Frontenac Street. Recently a date was set (Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM) for a prehearing conference between the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB), the appeal party (the developer) and the City of Kingston.
We have met with city planner Karen Fraser to find out what the next steps are in the process, and are contacting the OMB planning assistant to discuss the process and to see what role, if any, we might play.
Further details will be sent when they are available. It may be necessary to hold a general meeting in the near future.
Letters went out from Patry Inc.’s solicitor in the first week of March with the bolded line:
“If you do not attend the prehearing conference, the Ontario Municipal Board may proceed in your absence and you will not be entitled to any further notice on these proceedings.”
Of course, 11:00AM on a Friday is a difficult time, but if you can make the hearing, please do so.
